Elias Charalambous (45 years old), the former FCSB coach, returned to Romania on Monday, April 27, where he will participate in an action in which the players and staff members from last season will be awarded for their performances.

The Cypriot technician left FCSB at the end of the regular season, and Gigi Becali brought Mirel Rădoi in his place. However, Charalambous' replacement stayed only 5 stages on the team's bench, following Gaziantep's offer. Since then, the club management has been looking for options for the technical bench at least until the end of the season, and Elias Charalambous was Mihai Stoica's first option.

However, the president of the FCSB Board of Directors testified that Elias Charalambous refused the proposal, but Gigi Becali revealed that he will conduct direct negotiations with the Cypriot technician, once he returns to Romania.

Elias Charalambous returned to Romania: “I'm here for two days”

“I'm glad to see you. I'm fine, I'm very happy to see you again, I'm here for two days, for that event, that's all. I miss Romania, when I landed I had pleasant feelings, both me and my wife. I've had some great years here and I'm happy to be back“, said Elias Charalambous, upon arrival at the airport.

Asked if he will go to negotiate with Gigi Becali, the Cypriot answered succinctly: “I'm just here for the event.”

Regarding the break from activity, but also the visit from Bournemouth, Charalambous pointed out: “Sometimes we need it, I'm trying to educate myself now. Sometimes it's good to look at things from the outside. Iraola is a person I appreciate very much, he raised his level in football a lot and I'm glad he stayed humble.”

Journalists noted that Elias Charalambous returned to Romania with a large luggage and asked about the chances of the coach returning to FCSB, but Charalambous answered them: “When you come with your wife you have a large luggage, if I came alone I had a small satchel”.

My agent is discussing offers. I think I will find a club that I like. Now I am here for two days, for this event. I will meet up with as many friends here as possible.
