The moment when the wind tore off the roof of a block of flats in Huși. The detached piece fatally struck a man

Several counties in Moldova are under an orange code of strong wind, valid today, between 12:00 and 18:00. In Husi, one person died after being hit by a roof blown off by the wind.

Initially, the authorities reported that the man hit by the roof was seriously injured and unconscious. Several cars were also damaged.
The Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) Vaslui reported that the incident took place against the background of strong wind, which detached approximately 150 square meters from the roof.
“At the scene, forces and means from the Husi Fire Department intervene, namely a special fire engine and a first aid crew with eight soldiers, in cooperation with a crew of the County Ambulance Service.
The victim is unconscious, in cardio-respiratory arrest. Resuscitation maneuvers are applied”stated Alexandru Tătaru from ISU Vaslui.
Later, ISU Vaslui announced that the man had died.
We remind you that the National Meteorological Administration (ANM) issued an orange code of strong wind, valid between 12:00 and 18:00, for the counties of Botoșani, Iași, Vaslui and Galați, as well as for the low relief area of the counties of Suceava, Neamț, Bacău and Vrancea.
In these regions, gusts will reach 70-90 km/h.
In Miroslava, a baby and its mother were hit by a pole, blown down by strong gusts of wind. The impact was violent, and the two victims needed medical attention.
