The building at Kirova, 24 was built in 1913-1915 according to the design of architect Sergei Drizhenko.

“The Society for the Care of Primary Education was the customer and organizer of the construction of the House of Education for teachers of the Yenisei region. The house was founded on August 6, 1913 on Teatralny Lane and completed in 1914, inaugurated on January 30, 1915», — says on a website dedicated to the architecture of the Krasnoyarsk region.

The house immediately included a book warehouse with a store, a pedagogical museum, a library, premises for the board of the Society, commissions, amateur groups and a large lecture hall.

Previously, in addition to the main entrance, the building had two more, located between the large windows of the first floor. These were shop doors. Later they were turned into windows.

“The metal shutters of the shop windows, the elegant door panels and the interior decoration have been lost. The first reconstruction was carried out in 1949. In 1954, during a major renovation, the interior of the large hall was changed, and the second-light windows were covered with a stucco frieze.», — says the building description.

The building was closed for renovation in 2016. But the restoration dragged on. The work is still not completed — The building is undergoing interior renovations.
