Benjamin Netanyahu reveals he received treatment after being diagnosed with early-stage prostate cancer, but kept the diagnosis a secret

The Israeli prime minister's annual medical report released on Friday revealed that he had a malignant tumor removed. Immediately after the publication, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a post saying that the problem had been resolved and that he was “in excellent physical condition”, reports the BBC.
In a post on X, Netanyahu claimed that during routine medical check-ups after a successful operation for a benign prostate enlargement, doctors discovered an early-stage malignant tumor.
The treatment “removed the problem and left no trace,” he added.
Netanyahu said he requested the release of his medical file be delayed so it would not be made public during the war with Iran to prevent Tehran from spreading “even more false propaganda against Israel.”
The 76-year-old Israeli leader said he underwent initial surgery for a benign prostate enlargement in 2024 and underwent a routine medical check-up. “A small blemish of less than a centimeter” was discovered during the most recent medical check-up.
“I had a minor medical problem with my prostate, which was completely treated. Thank God, I put it behind me,” he said.
Netanyahu also said he chose to undergo treatment because “when I receive timely information about a potential danger, I want to address it immediately.”
