Urania Cremene revolts against the Velea brothers. How the parenting specialist sees the messages sent to children

The song “Mamacita”, released by the Velea brothers, became viral on TikTok, YouTube and Instagram, where the refrain is taken up in numerous clips, reels and stories. The lyrics sung by Dominic and Akim Velea, Antonia and Alex Velea's 10- and 12-year-old children, talk about a little girl they will “make theirs” and take her to the club. The song's virality led to a wide-ranging debate on social media, beyond the usual realm of musical tastes. The topic was also analyzed by experts, in an article published by Totul Despre Mame.
“Come on, don't get fired up, it's just a song. And we grew up with BUG Mafia and Parasites and we didn't get hurt,” is the message online from those who see no problem with two minors singing “I go to the club, I take her to the dance, I like that she's funny/Mama, what a crazy girl, she seems to give me trouble/ I tell her, I really like her/ But I won't leave until I make her mine/…My blood boils because she's Latino vero/ Mamasita, que bonita, dame, dame tu cosita.” (trans. “Mommy, how pretty, give me, give me your little thing”).
Parenting specialist Urania Cremene says bluntly: “To put such messages in the mouth of children is inappropriate. Period. Not because music is the 'devil', but because we are giving children a text that they do not have the emotional and cognitive tools to understand and filter.”
She believes that the argument “I grew up with the Parasites and suffered nothing” is not valid when we relate to the current generations, the environment they live in and the challenges they face.
