Over the course of the year, the number of schoolchildren in the region who showed themselves in Olympiads for the first time increased by a quarter, and the number of participants in the final stage of the All-Russian Olympiad for Schoolchildren increased by one and a half times. Such data were presented at a meeting of the Council for the Development of a System for Identifying and Supporting Abilities in Children and Youth, which was held at the Rossiya National Center on the Yenisei. Following the meeting, the head of the region, Mikhail Kotyukov, gave instructions to expand the system of support for gifted schoolchildren.
The press service of the regional government said that additional education programs now cover 78.5% of children. More than 5 thousand new programs have been developed for preschoolers, and more than 10.5 thousand places have been created. The Sputnik regional center, the main platform for working with gifted children, conducted programs for 13 thousand schoolchildren. In total, more than 16 thousand people are involved in its events. The most talented children and students receive regional scholarships. By order of the governor, their size was significantly increased in 2025.
The share of children studying in pre-vocational programs increased by 1.7% – that’s 357 people. New art schools are being built in Nizhny Ingash, Uzhur and Severo-Yeniseisk. Summer specialized sessions brought together 900 children, career guidance meetings were attended by more than 13 thousand people. Gifted people are paid scholarships named after Surikov, Astafiev, Godenko and Hvorostovsky.
More than 44 thousand children from 5 to 17 years old have completed sports training programs. At the Sputnik base, 19 specialized sessions were held for 600 young athletes. More than two thousand people took part in the Stars of Krasnoyarsk competition and the Yenisei Bridges chess tournament. The school basketball league “KS-BASKET” brought together 299 teams. In 2025, the region's athletes received 655 one-time rewards for success in competitions – from Russian championships to the Olympic Games.
Joint work with the Moscow Center for Pedagogical Excellence is bringing results: 365 schoolchildren completed online preparation for the regional stage of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren in mathematics, physics, biology and chemistry, and six for the final one. 1,200 teachers improve their qualifications at the Krasnoyarsk Institute for Educational Development.
Mikhail Kotyukov set new goals: to increase the number of specialized classes in schools, to increase the number of participants in the final stage of the All-Russian School Olympiad and to increase the availability of additional education.
“When working with children, you cannot “put off until tomorrow.” If we miss it today, we won’t get it back. Support for talent should not be one-time, but ongoing. We need to nurture them. To see everyone who has proven themselves, and to do everything possible so that the next stage of development is not missed,” the governor emphasized.
The head of the region also drew the attention of the heads of the region’s leading educational institutions to the fact that universities and colleges should be more actively involved in career guidance and help young people build a future in the Krasnoyarsk region. This is fully consistent with the objectives of the Youth and Children national project, where the support and development of talents is designated as one of the key priorities.
