Donald Trump's U-turn on Iran. Axios reveals the reasons

Axios, which cites Israeli and Middle Eastern sources, writes that negotiators from the US and Pakistan are still waiting for Khamenei's response and for him to provide clear guidelines to the Iranian delegation.
“Iranian negotiators have said they are waiting for the green light from the supreme leader,” one source told Axios. According to an Israeli source, Khamenei is expected to respond on Wednesday.
The portal writes that the Iranian authorities have been engaged in an intense internal debate in recent days on how to proceed in talks with the Trump administration.
Iranian civilian leaders, including Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, support continuing talks to extend the ceasefire and reach an agreement. The commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, General Ahmad Wahidi, allegedly refused to make concessions and opposed negotiations as long as the American blockade of Iranian seaports continued.
US Finance Minister Scott Bessent announced on Tuesday that he would continue economic pressure on Iran, including in the form of a blockade. In his opinion, the oil storage facilities on Khark Island will be full within a few days and, as a result, Iran will have to stop the production of the raw material.
Israel and the US started war against Iran on February 28. In response, Tehran, among others, introduced a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz – the main route for transporting oil from the Persian Gulf countries. As a result, the prices of raw materials increased rapidly, and the issue of permanent unblocking of Hormuz is one of the main topics of negotiations between Iran and the USA.
