Residents of Dudinka were refunded 12 million rubles in overpayments for utilities

April 20 16:00
In Dudinka, the prosecutor's office achieved a recalculation of utility bills in the amount of more than 12 million rubles. The reason was massive complaints from residents; heating interruptions were recorded in 38 apartment buildings at the height of the frost.
An inspection by the supervisory agency showed serious violations on the part of Taimyrbyt JSC and Dudinskaya Management Company LLC. The organizations did not comply with the operating rules of heating networks and licensing requirements.
Prosecutors examined problem houses and identified typical violations: uneven heating of risers and radiators, ice and flooding in underground areas, sewer leaks, garbage and construction waste, damaged thermal insulation of pipes, icicles and frost on structures. A number of houses also lacked hot and cold water, and repair deadlines according to requests were systematically missed.
Despite this, residents were charged for utility services in full. The prosecutor's office made representations to the heads of organizations and initiated administrative cases under Part 2 of Art. 14.1.3 Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (violation of licensing requirements when managing apartment buildings).
After the intervention of the supervisory authority, the companies began to eliminate the violations. Residents of Dudinka were recalculated and their rights were restored.
