VIDEO Minister of Energy, about the evolution of fuel prices and other effects of the war. “We can no longer stay locked in Excel tables”

The Minister of Energy, Bogdan Ivan, stated that the measures taken so far regarding fuel prices “had effects of approximately -1 leu per liter of standard diesel”, but warned that any “fluctuation” in the Strait of Hormuz “will also be reflected in the price in our country”.
The official said that globally it is “perhaps the most difficult time in decades” and things are “changing at breakneck speed”.
Bogdan Ivan estimated that, even if it ended tomorrow, the negative effects of the war in the Middle East would be felt “for another six to nine months”.
“The fact that 40% of the world's fertilizers had to pass through that strait and now do not reach the spring crops automatically causes a lack of food at the end of this summer and in the winter. The fact that we already have such high fuel prices and lack of fuel in certain states, not in Romania, is a challenge and we will have work to do. Even if this war ends tomorrow, for another six to nine months we will feel the negative effects,” said Bogdan Ivan, on Sunday, in the extraordinary conference for the election of the PSD Sector 4 leadership.
He warned that Romania “will have huge problems” if it does not adapt to the new “dynamic”.
“We can no longer be locked in Excel tables and in accounting with every comma, when this world is changing at a dizzying speed. It is no longer a time when you know that for five years you have five years and you look at Excel tables, and that's it, you know what you are going to do then. No, we are in a different dynamic, where if we are not agile, if we are not on the same page, this country is going to have huge problems, because the whole planet has huge problems”. added the minister.
What did he say about fuel prices?
The Minister of Energy said that the price of apples increases by 45 paise each when the international price of oil increases by 10 dollars.
“Very directly, any increase in the price of a barrel of oil, for example, by 10 dollars, means an increase at the pump in Romania by 45 pennies – for every 10 dollars more. If it drops by 10 dollars, the price also drops by 45 pennies”, explained Bogdan Ivan, in a press conference after the event at PSD Sector 4.
He claims that the measures taken so far regarding fuel prices “had effects of approximately -1 leu per liter of standard diesel, because he was subjected to this mechanism”.
“At the moment, if there will be a fluctuation in the Strait of Hormuz, it is obvious that it will also be reflected in the price in our country”, concluded Minister Bogdan Ivan.
