Two men from Brașov, arrested for shooting a bear with a thermal imaging weapon. They had no hunting license

Two men from Brașov were detained for poaching, being suspected of having shot a bear, the police determining that a weapon with thermal imaging was used, although the two men did not have a hunting permit.
The County Police Inspectorate (IPJ) Brașov informed that the suspects were caught in the night from Friday to Saturday. One is 37 years old and from the city of Victoria, while the second is 24 years old and from the commune of Viștea.
They were caught “immediately after allegedly committing an act of poaching on a specimen of the brown bear species”, according to a press release from the IPJ, quoted by Agerpres.
The two were in the area of Victoria and did not have a legal hunting permit.
“He would have executed, without right, the gun fire on the animal, using a hunting weapon equipped with a thermal imaging device, and the equipment used in the criminal activity, as well as parts of animal origin, have also been identified on them,” the statement reads.
The two men were detained for 24 hours and investigations continue for poaching, unlawful use of a weapon and non-compliance with the arms and ammunition regime.
