Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani appealed for unity around the new leader. According to him, the Assembly of Experts made the choice despite threats from the United States and Israel. Larijani expressed confidence that Mojtaba Khamenei is capable of leading the country in the current situation.
