Zelensky claims that “Russia will again try to involve Belarus” in the war and warned the leadership in Minsk that Ukraine is ready to defend its territory

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Friday that Ukraine believes that Russia is making preparations that indicate a new attempt to involve Belarus in the war, Reuters notes.
“According to intelligence information, road construction works are taking place in the direction of Ukraine in the border area of Belarus and artillery positions are being set up,” Zelensky wrote on Telegram, referring to a report by the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army.
“We believe that Russia will again try to draw Belarus into this war,” the Ukrainian president continued.
Zelensky said Ukraine sent instructions to warn the Belarusian leadership of “Ukraine's readiness to defend its territory and independence.”
