Poland welcomes the ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized on Friday, expressing hope that both sides will use this opportunity to reach a lasting agreement leading to peace.

“Poland welcomes the ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel. We hope that both sides will use this opportunity to reach a lasting agreement leading to the peace that both countries deserve,” we read in the entry on X shared by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Radosław Sikorski.
On Thursday, US President Donald Trump announced that he had spoken with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and that the two leaders had agreed to a 10-day ceasefire. For a month and a half, Israel has been fighting the Shiite Hezbollah, which operates outside the control of the government in Beirut, and has occupied parts of southern Lebanon. (PAP)
