Krasnoyarsk residents were advised on how to eat properly after Lent

17 April 13:10

Specialists from the Krasnoyarsk branch of the CSC AIC told how to switch to a normal diet after Lent without stress on digestion and what cereal crops can help.

According to experts, pThe right way out of fasting is not to eat everything in the refrigerator, but to carefully return to your usual diet.

“A sudden change from a limited plant diet to a large amount of fats and proteins causes stress on the heart and blood vessels, as well as metabolic shock. And overeating baked goods, Easter cakes, eggs and fatty meat on Easter, when they break their fast, can cause exacerbation of cholelithiasis, acute pancreatitis and gastritis. It takes about a week for the body to readjust. Therefore, it is worth switching to regular food gradually,” experts explained.

After fasting for many days, the body adapts, and the gallbladder works in a gentle manner. Therefore, legumes and cereals will help you return to a balanced diet. They provide the body with vegetable protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals and can become an alternative to meat and milk.

“The best cereals are millet, buckwheat, rice, pearl barley, quinoa. They contain essential amino acids and vitamins. In the first days after fasting, you need to eat little by little, every 2-3 hours, 300-400 grams, so that a slight feeling of hunger remains. In the evening, enough fruit and kefir. Fermented milk products will make breaking the fast easier, then you can introduce milk, cottage cheese, butter, and cheese. You shouldn’t indulge in fried and salty foods,” the department said.

In the first week after fasting, it is better to eat steamed, stewed or boiled food, as well as plenty of vegetables, fruits and liquids. A big mistake is drinking alcohol and soda; it is better to avoid them. These drinks are dangerous in combination with heavy meat foods and foods that cause irritation of the mucous membrane. Only clean water and herbal teas will help digest heavy foods, as well as high-quality and safe products.
