In the south of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a firefighter filmed an unusually singing black kite.

The press service of the regional Forest Fire Center said that the feathered predator performing a “gentle trill” was caught in the frame by the deputy head of the Minusinsk forest fire station, Maxim Dryukov.

“At the same time, the ferocious hunter squinted, turned his head in different directions and, tenaciously grabbing a high pine branch with his claws, swayed on it, as if on a swing,” the department noted.

The black kite returns to its native places in mid-April. Prefers to settle near water: in floodplains, near lakes. Steady pairs fly to their nests, hidden in the fork of the branches of old trees.

Free males begin to compete for the attention of females. They vied with each other to shout songs and organize tournaments. Having created a family, they begin to build nests. They decorate the home with all sorts of trinkets. These birds have a passion for luxury, shiny and flashy.

These birds often gather in colonies, which is not typical for the hawk family. They hunt and relax together. In the same composition, they fly away to warmer climes, and “talk” with loud, drawn-out screams.
