In Australia, brothers from different continents met for the first time at Christmas. They haven't seen each other for over 60 years

Both brothers were born in London. Peter was born when his mother was only 15 years old, and due to social circumstances he was adopted and taken to Australia.

Russell learned of his brother's existence from his sister as a teenager, but his mother never revealed the truth to him. Only in 2007, when she had little time left due to illness, she tried to report Peter, but did not have time to do this.

The brothers' relationship was confirmed by DNA tests initiated by Peter's granddaughter.

Russell traveled more than 10 thousand miles (16 thousand km), his journey took 23 hours. The brothers met at Peter's house, they discovered a noticeable similarity in appearance and behavior, and the emotional moment of shaking hands and hugs emphasized their strong family connection.

The meeting coincided with Christmas and their mother's 85th birthday, which added symbolic significance to the event. Now a large family of 17 people plans to gather together to celebrate. The brothers are still wondering whether a three-week visit will be enough to make up for lost time after decades of separation.
