Explosions shook the city of Krasnodar shortly after midnight, sending residents into a panic as they evacuated their homes in search of safety. Local reports indicate that the airport in Sochi has been temporarily closed due to the situation.
The mayor of Krasnodar, Yevgeny Naumov, confirmed the incident and noted that it followed a drone attack. According to reports, the skies over Krasnodar lit up with flashes, and buildings trembled as numerous blasts were heard.
The Russian Federal Air Transport Agency announced temporary restrictions on the arrival and departure of aircraft at Sochi and Krasnodar airports.
Reports from the information agency suggest that a warehouse belonging to the “CMM-K” company, which spans approximately 9,000 square meters and serves as a large wholesale storage facility for construction materials, was targeted. Additionally, it was mentioned that a marketplace object, possibly belonging to Ozon, might have been on fire.
