Thus, despite the reductions, the price of standard diesel compared to the day before the start of the war in Iran is 1.03 – 1.44 lei/liter higher (on February 27, the average price of standard diesel sold in Romania was 8.25 lei/liter).
On Friday, April 3, the government adopted the emergency ordinance that provides for the reduction of the excise duty on standard diesel and the introduction of a solidarity contribution for companies in the oil industry.
The excise duty on standard diesel sold on the domestic market was temporarily reduced, during the declared period of the crisis on the oil and fuel market, by 30 money per liter, 36 money in total, including VAT.
In addition to the excise tax reduction, the ordinance also introduces a solidarity contribution for companies that obtain income from the extraction and sale of Romanian oil. The contribution is calculated according to the price of Brent oil and targets profits considered exceptional in the current economic context.
