The court awarded the 22-year-old Krasnoyarsk woman compensation for moral damages from her ex-husband for serious harm to health caused before marriage.
In the lawsuit, the girl indicated that in August 2023, when she was 18 years old, an accident occurred due to the fault of the defendant. As a result, she received injuries that, in particular, led to the amputation of her left leg and disability.
“At the time of the accident, the car was then driven by her boyfriend (the defendant), with whom she later married. In February 2024, the criminal case against him was dropped due to the reconciliation of the parties, but then he stopped providing financial assistance to the plaintiff. Considering that after the accident, the girl cannot lead a full life, while in order to maintain her health she is forced to take medications on an ongoing basis, she asked to recover from the defendant compensation for moral damage in the amount of 1,000,000 rubles,” said the joint press service of the regional courts.
Having assessed the degree of moral and physical suffering of the Krasnoyarsk woman, and also taking into account her young age, general health, long period of treatment and the need for further treatment, including surgery, the court recovered 600,000 rubles from her now ex-husband.
