Crassula is popularly called the money tree, since it is believed that this unpretentious plant attracts good luck and financial well-being to the home. However, Crassula exhibits magical properties only if it is full of strength.
And for this you need to properly care for her. In the spring, it is necessary to feed the fat plant so that the tree is strong and the leaves are fleshy and bright.
What to feed
Crassula needs four main elements: nitrogen, phosphorus, calcium and potassium. Of the ready-made fertilizers, “Bona Forte”, “Pokon”, “Uniflor-cactus” and “Gumisol” have proven themselves well. However, simple home remedies are just as effective.
Eggshells are a storehouse of calcium. Grind the shells of 10 eggs, pour a liter of boiling water and leave for 14 days in a dark place. Water the plant with the prepared water.
Crassula also reacts well to wood ash. It should be dug into the ground dry 2 times a month.
Sugar helps replenish the lack of glucose after winter and stimulates the growth of new shoots. The solution is prepared as follows: 1 tablespoon of sugar per 1 liter of settled water. Do not make the solution sweeter so as not to harm the roots.
Important advice from a florist
Continue feeding until the end of summer, and with the onset of autumn, take a break until next spring. Also monitor the room temperature: the ideal range for Crassula in spring is 18–22 degrees, otherwise the leaves will begin to stretch too quickly, reports “FLOWERS ON THE WINDOW” (18+).
