Bulgaria Sees Unprecedented Surge in Electricity Exports Amid Nuclear Plant Limitations

Bulgaria is experiencing an extraordinary increase in electricity exports, achieving daily figures between 32,000 and 33,000 megawatt-hours. This surge was highlighted by Dimităr Zarcev, director of the Central Dispatcher at Bulgaria’s Electricity System Operator, during a public radio interview on Wednesday. Zarcev described the situation as a “miracle,” reflecting the current dynamics in the energy market due to the constrained operations of nuclear power plants along the Danube.
