The State Traffic Inspectorate of the Krasnoyarsk Territory urged drivers not to rush into replacing winter car tires to summer tires.

Traffic police reminded that April in our region is characterized by unstable weather: often the temperature during the day is above zero, in the morning, evening and at night it is below zero, and such changes are accompanied by heavy precipitation in the form of rain and sleet.
At the same time, during periods of frequent changes in weather conditions in the off-season, it is necessary to observe special safety measures on the roads.
“Car tire manufacturers recommend replacing wheels with summer ones only when the average daily temperature is above +7 °C. If it’s colder outside, summer car tires, which have different characteristics from winter tires, will harden and grip on the road surface will be worse, say the traffic police. “Those drivers whose route involves traveling outside the city, where the temperature is usually several degrees lower and road conditions may differ,” should delay installing summer tires.”
