The Israeli army has entered a new phase of preparation for a possible conflict with Iran, amid the deadlock in negotiations between Washington and Tehran, according to Israeli media.

Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir reportedly ordered troops to prepare for a resumption of hostilities after peace talks between the United States and Iran, held in Pakistan, failed.
Israel goes into 'war mode'
Military sources cited by local media claim that the Israeli military has gone into a similar mode of preparation as before previous operations against Iran, including the offensive launched at the end of February 2026.
Units received clear instructions:
– to maintain a high level of alertness,
– to reduce reaction times,
– to eliminate possible operational vulnerabilities.
In parallel, Israel is accelerating the updating of the “target bank” for Iran – the list of targets that could be hit in the event of a political decision to attack. According to the sources, the focus is on military targets and strategic infrastructure to enable quick and coordinated strikes.
The Air Force is finalizing its plans
The Israeli Air Force is working on finalizing complex attack plans that include so-called “strike packages” integrated with long-range capabilities.
At the same time, the military is strengthening its defensive systems, anticipating scenarios where it could be targeted simultaneously from multiple directions.
US-Iran negotiations have failed
The diplomatic deadlock also raises questions over the maintenance of the two-week truce previously agreed between Washington and Tehran.
US Vice President JD Vance, who led the US delegation, has already left Pakistan, saying Iran has not accepted the “final offer”.
For his part, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, stated that the US “failed to win the confidence of the Iranian delegation”.
Threats to the Strait of Hormuz
President Donald Trump has escalated the rhetoric, threatening to block the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most important sea routes for global trade.
In a public message, he announced that the US Navy had been ordered to intercept ships that would pay taxes to Iran, warning that any attack on American interests or commercial shipping would be met with a harsh response.
Continued strikes in Lebanon
Despite the truce, Israel continued bombing southern Lebanon. According to international media, at least 11 people were killed following the attacks in the towns of Qana and Maaroub.
The situation in the Middle East remains extremely volatile, and Israel's accelerated military preparations indicate that the scenario of a resumption of conflict with Iran is increasingly being considered.
The failure of diplomatic negotiations and increasingly tough rhetoric from political leaders are raising fears of a major escalation in the region.
