You can become infected with various infections through a hookah; this is especially likely when several people smoke at the same time.
This was reported on the social networks of the Krasnoyarsk Rospotrebnadzor, answering a corresponding question from one of the subscribers.
“Many people believe that a hookah is a safe device from a hygiene point of view. However, this is a dangerous misconception!,” the department said. — The moist and warm environment inside the flasks, tubes and hookah hoses creates ideal conditions for the proliferation of dangerous microorganisms and contributes to the spread of dangerous infectious diseases: tuberculosis, candidiasis, staphylococcal infection, herpes and others. The danger increases many times over when smoking a hookah in a large company. And even an individual plastic mouthpiece does not guarantee safety – after all, bacteria can get not only onto the hookah tube, but also penetrate deep inside.”
Rospotrebnadzor also noted that hookah smoking itself causes serious damage to health and called for completely abandoning this bad habit.
