In the village of Krasny Zavod, Krasnoyarsk Territory, a woman and a 4-year-old child died in a fire in a one-story residential building. This was reported to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the region.
The fire happened the night before. According to rescuers, the woman and child were poisoned by combustion products. By the time the volunteer fire brigade arrived, thick black smoke was coming from the windows and from under the roof.
Employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations and volunteers took part in the extinguishing effort – a total of 12 people and 4 pieces of equipment. The fire was extinguished in an area of 48 square meters.
According to preliminary information, the cause of the fire was a violation of fire safety rules during the operation of the stove.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds residents of the region about the need to take precautions: the stove must be stopped before going to bed, furniture and flammable objects should be placed away from the stove, a pre-furnace sheet measuring at least 50 by 70 cm must be installed in front of the stove, and a fire detector must be installed in the house.
