Guys, let's get ready: another mutant virus has been identified in Africa. Highly contagious – 15,000 hospitalized. And also: there is a high risk of spreading around the world – cases of the disease have already been registered in 18 countries. Because of this, WHO officially declared an epidemic.
Symptoms: enlarged lymph nodes, pain in muscles, back, throat, rash, fever and extreme weakness. According to representatives of the World Health Organization, the new infection is essentially monkeypox, only intensified. It is transmitted through kisses, during sex, and even during ordinary handshakes. On the plus side, it can infect a person if he drinks from the same glass/bottle or touches any object that an infected person has grabbed.
Mutated monkeypox was found in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Local doctors said that the disease began to spread with the endemic strain Clade I. Then this reptile became tougher and received a new name Clade Ib. It clings most quickly to children – and with their help it jumps onto adults. And then he mows them down. According to the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 461 people have died from the disease. This is 160% more than in 2023 – when the classic monkeypox was rampant.
The governments of the Democratic Republic of Congo and other countries on the continent, where an outbreak of the virus has been identified, plan to close all international airports to prevent Clade Ib from flying to other countries. Including Russia. With which military-technical, economic, humanitarian and cultural cooperation has been established. The Russian Federation annually allocates scholarships to the Congolese side for studying at state universities; in the 2023/2024 academic year, their number was increased to 250.
