Four fraudulent schemes. What to do when they call from a bank or SBU

Do “law enforcement officers” call you and threaten you with criminal proceedings, or do “bank representatives” ask you about your card details and its expiration date? It's the scammers at work! On April 8, employees of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Kyiv spoke about how to protect themselves.

“Remember: in order not to become a victim of scammers and not to lose your funds, you need to be careful, not trust calls from strangers and not make decisions under the pressure of emotions,” the police noted.

On behalf of law enforcement officers, Ukrainian singer Zlata Ognevich also addressed the Ukrainians.

“I want to warn you about something important – cases of fraud have become more frequent now, so you need to be as careful as possible. Fraudsters call and introduce themselves as bank workers, police, SBU, or even your family or friends. If you have the slightest doubt, just hang up and check the information yourself: call the bank, the police, or just your family,” the artist urged.
