Confusion over the US-Iran ceasefire. Bombing continues in the Middle East

President Donald Trump announced a temporary ceasefire overnight, later declaring it “an important day for world peace”.
Iran said it had accepted Pakistan's proposed 14-day ceasefire to continue negotiations.
Following Trump's announcement of a two-week ceasefire, provided Iran opens the Strait of Hormuz, Tehran said it would allow “safe passage” through the strategic route for the duration of the truce, “in coordination with the Iranian armed forces.”
Iran's Security Council said it had presented a 10-point plan to the United States through Pakistan, but insisted this did not mean the war was over.
But there is uncertainty regarding Lebanon. Although Israel announced that it had also agreed to suspend attacks on Iran, it made clear that Lebanon was excluded from the ceasefire agreement.
The statement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office contradicts the claims of his Pakistani counterpart, Shehbaz Sharif, who has played a key mediating role in the Middle East conflict.
Sharif assured that the ceasefire also applies to Lebanon, where Israel is conducting military operations against the pro-Iranian armed group Hezbollah.
“The cease-fire for two weeks does not include Lebanon,” the office of the head of the Israeli government said in a statement to the media.
Israel attacked Lebanon on Wednesday with both air strikes and a ground invasion in southern areas, according to Sky News.
Many of the Israeli strikes on Wednesday targeted areas near the Mediterranean coastal city of Tyre, Lebanon's state news agency reported, according to the AP.
The Shia group Hezbollah has not yet reacted to the developments of the last few hours.
Hezbollah ceased fire on northern Israel and Israeli troops in Lebanon in the early hours of Wednesday as part of the previously announced US-Iran truce, three Lebanese sources close to the group told Reuters.
The Iran-backed group is expected to issue a statement outlining its official position on the ceasefire and Netanyahu's claim that Lebanon is not included, the three Lebanese sources said.
