Russia has qualified the Monday meetings from the White House as “an important day for diplomacy”.

In the first comments of Moscow after the completion of the meetings, Kirill Dmitriev, the special emissary for investments and economic cooperation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, said: “Today was an important day for diplomacy, with an emphasis on sustainable peace, not on a temporary armistice,” according to Sky News.

Dmitriev's message, published on the Social network X, was posted after Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski met with US President Donald Trump and European leaders in Washington, for peace negotiations. Dmitriev made no explicit reference to these meetings in his post.

Previously, Volodimir Zelenski said that Vladimir Putin was the one who suggested a bilateral meeting between the two leaders, followed by one to attend the US.

Donald Trump also said that Putin will accept the agreed security guarantees, but we still have no official statement on this topic from the Russian president.

The US president called Vladimir Putin on Monday after discussing the White House with European leaders and Zelenski.

Zelenski: Territorial issues will be decided between Russia and Ukraine

Territorial issues will be decided between Russia and Ukraine, Ukrainian president Volodimir Zelenski said on Monday after the White House calls with US President Donald Trump and NATO leaders, international press agencies reported.

He confessed that he had a long discussion with Trump about the territories and also announced an agreement with the US to purchase drone.

Ukrainian president has qualified Washington discussions as “good, normal.”

Zelenski said Ukraine is prepared for any format for a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin to put an end to the war.

“We are prepared for a bilateral meeting with Putin and then we are waiting for a trilateral meeting” with Donald Trump's participation, Zelenski told reporters after discussions with US President and Washington European officials.

He insisted that Ukraine and Russia should meet without preliminary conditions and stressed that there is no need for a break in war, but a real peace.

Zelenski also explained that he has discussed security guarantees with Trump and European leaders and that he has received an important signal from the US that he will be part of security guarantees and will help coordinate.

He announced that the details on security guarantees will be developed within 10 days.

“Security guarantees will probably be” revealed “by our partners and more and more details will appear. They will be formalized on paper in the next week,” Zelenski told the press conference after his meetings, according to Agerpres.
