Nicușor Dan says he will go to DIICOT if he is subpoenaed in the case of the 2025 presidential campaign photos
President Nicușor Dan said on Tuesday that, if he is called to DIICOT in the file regarding the photos that appeared before the 1st round of the 2025 presidential elections, he will appear.

“I was at DIICOT, I am the one who filed the complaint that led to this criminal investigation”, said the head of state, answering journalists' questions about the case of photos from Tunari.
Asked if he expects to be heard, Nicușor Dan added: “If I'm ever called, I'll go, but what can I say more than what everyone has seen: that some people have brought into the public space some photographs in which they claim to be me.”
DIICOT prosecutors conducted several hearings in connection with the scandal of the photos published by Elena Lasconi in 2025, just three days before the first round of the presidential elections. The USR candidate claimed that Nicușor Dan and Victor Ponta met with the former first deputy of the SRI, Florian Coldea, near Bucharest.
The president emphasized that he had an active role in triggering the investigation.
“We believed that these images should not go unsanctioned and filed the complaint that led to the opening of the criminal investigation,” he declared.
