On Sunday, one of the missiles landed a short distance from a power plant in Bushehr in southern Iran. Iran's Tasnim news agency reported that the installation was attacked for the fourth time since the beginning of the US-Israel war with Iran.

The IAEA has confirmed through an independent analysis that recent attacks have occurred near the facility. The power plant itself was not damaged.

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi warned that “continued military activity in the vicinity of an operating power plant producing large amounts of nuclear fuel could result in a serious radiological accident that would have harmful consequences for people and the environment in Iran and beyond.” The Bushehr facility produces large amounts of nuclear fuel, increasing the risk if hit.

The agency determined that one of the attacks took place 75 m from the power plant. This is the closest of four incidents that have occurred in the area of ​​this strategic facility since February.

Airstrikes by Israeli and US forces on Iran have been ongoing since the end of February. Tehran responds by attacking Israel and several countries in the Persian Gulf region, hitting American bases and civilian facilities.
