What will the weather be like on May 1st mini-holiday. Below normal temperatures and episodes of instability

The National Meteorological Administration has published the weather forecast for the next four weeks (April 20 – May 18, 2026), and estimates indicate an unusually cold period at the end of April, followed by a gradual return to normal values.

Week 20 – 27 April
In the week of April 20-27, the thermal values will be much lower than normal for this period, in most of Romania. According to meteorologists, rainfall will be deficient in the west, southwest and southeast, and in the rest of the country will fall within normal limits.
Week of April 27 – May 4
The period from April 27 to May 4 still brings temperatures far below the climatological norms, this time at the level of the entire country. The rainfall regime will be deficient in the west and northwest, slightly surplus in the southeast, and in the rest of the regions it will remain close to normal.
Week 4 – 11 May
During the week of May 4 – 11, the weather starts to warm up slightly. Thermal values will be close to normal for this period in most regions. However, precipitation will remain deficient, especially in the west and southwest, while in the rest of the territory it will be around the climatological norms.
Week 11 – 18 May
For the period 11 – 18 May, the forecast indicates a stabilization of the weather. The thermal regime will be close to normal in most of the country, and the amounts of precipitation will generally be within the usual limits for this period.
According to the National Meteorological Administration, the weather evolution shows a transition from a cold and atypical period for the end of April to more stable and close to normal conditions in the first part of May.
