LAST HOUR Evacuations in Galati. The crashed drone after the Russian attack has “possible explosive charge”. Residents within a radius of 200 meters, urged to leave their homes
The authorities decided to evacuate the locals from the Bariera Traian area in the municipality of Galați, where a Russian drone fell, within a radius of 200 meters, after the specialists on the spot found a possible explosive charge, IGSU announces.
“Considering this morning's incident, as a result of which a drone crashed in a residential area, and given the fact that after the checks carried out by the specialists on the spot, a possible explosive charge was found, the responsible authorities ordered the evacuation of people from the affected perimeter, within a radius of 200m”, informs the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations.

According to the authorities, the measure was taken as a preventive measure for the protection of the population in the area, but also for the safe intervention of specialized teams and the conduct of on-site investigations.
The purpose of the temporary evacuation is to facilitate the access of the competent authorities, who will assess the situation and take all the necessary measures to manage the incident under optimal conditions.

At the same time, the authorities say, the evacuation allows the collapsed device to be lifted without hindering the intervention of the technical teams.
The drone will be destroyed
The drone will be retrieved and transported to a safe area, where it will be destroyed under controlled conditions, according to legal procedures, the IGSU states.
“The whole process is carried out in strict compliance with safety rules. The authorities emphasize that this measure is of a preventive nature and appeal to citizens to remain calm, to follow the instructions received and to obtain information only from official sources”, mentions IGSU.
What damage did the fallen drone cause in Galati
The Russian drone that fell on the night of Friday to Saturday in the Bariera Traian area in the municipality of Galati damaged an electricity pole from the national network and a workshop in a household, announced Cristian Popovici, spokesperson of MApN, to Digi24.
The MApN spokesman explained that the pilots had permission to fire, but said the drone was over Ukraine's airspace
“The pilots had the approval to shoot, the pilots always have the authority to neutralize these drones, it's a simple procedure, you don't need who knows what approvals. It's just that this drone was over Ukrainian territory and in the current situation no kind of employment could be done,” Popovici said.
“The radars on the ground followed them. 15 drones were permanently tracked in the vicinity of the border with Ukraine, until they disappeared over the town of Reni, where multiple explosions were immediately reported. It seems that one of the drones escaped from this swarm, hitting a property in the town of Galati,” he explained.
