Municipal Police Commander in Przemyśl, Deputy Insp. Janusz Kiszka was fined, penalized with penalty points and lost his driving license for three months for exceeding the speed limit by 63 km/h in a built-up area. He committed the offense in an unmarked police car; his deputy was a passenger.

The spokeswoman added that all activities related to the detected offense and the suspension of the driving license were carried out in accordance with applicable regulations. The commander was given a fine and penalty points, and his driving license was suspended for a period of three months. – The decision to suspend the driving license remains in force and has not been changed or repealed – said Junior Asp. The passenger of the vehicle was the first deputy commander, but the spokeswoman added that responsibility for the offense committed rests solely with the driver.

“After receiving this information, the Provincial Police Commander in Rzeszów, acting on the basis of Order No. 30 of the Police Commander in Chief of December 16, 2013 on the functioning of the hierarchical organization in the Police, conducted a conversation with the city commander in Przemyśl, explaining the essence of the irregularities,” said Superintendent. The Przemyśl police commander pleaded guilty in a statement. “I am aware of the offense committed and I fully accept all the consequences resulting from it. The situation is a particularly important lesson for me, which confirms that everyone – regardless of the position held – is subject to the same legal provisions,” emphasized Deputy Inspector. In the statement, he also referred to the police officers who detained him: “The officers acted in accordance with applicable law and the principles of professional ethics, demonstrating full professionalism and impartiality.”
At the same time, he firmly denied suggestions that he continued driving after having his driving license suspended.
“I am the co-owner of two vehicles. Both vehicles are currently used by my wife – I use them only as a passenger. (…) At the same time, I clearly declare that I will strictly comply with the driving ban throughout the entire period of validity of the decision,” he emphasized.
The incident occurred two months ago. The case came to light after a resident of Przemyśl contacted the Onet portal, which informed about the case. (PAP)
