The country's leading universities have adjusted the admission conditions for future students. The innovations are aimed at increasing the transparency of recruitment campaigns and taking into account current requirements for specialists, reports Yamal 1.

For a number of engineering specialties, for example at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University, physics has become a mandatory exam. Liberal arts schools can now accept history as an alternative to social studies. Applications to universities such as MEPhI and RUDN University are accepted mainly through the State Services portal. A “day of silence” has been introduced – a ban on revoking consent to enrollment on the day the order is published.
The right to admission without entrance examinations is now retained only by Olympiad winners, not prize-winners, and it must be confirmed by a high Unified State Examination score (from 85 in a core subject). Some universities, on the contrary, have begun to award points for achievements in the arts or sports.
Target locations are now assigned to specific customers. They also introduced limits on the number of paid places in popular areas – psychology, economics and law – in order to redirect applicants to priority specialties for economics.
