Talks between trade unionists from ZUS and the management board regarding the division of funds for salary increases for 2026 will be resumed on April 9. The parties unanimously signed a declaration on the suspension of talks, the press office of the Social Insurance Institution reported on Friday.

Wage negotiations between the employer and twelve company trade unions have been ongoing since Wednesday at ZUS. On that day, union representatives decided to establish an inter-union protest and strike committee and not to leave the ZUS headquarters. They do not agree to the financial proposals presented by the Institute's authorities.

ZUS told PAP on Friday that the parties signed a declaration suspending talks regarding the division of funds for salary increases for 2026.

“The talks will be resumed on April 9 this year at the ZUS headquarters,” he said.

He emphasized in the information that Friday's talks lasted until the afternoon. “The employer upheld the proposal submitted on April 2, i.e. a salary increase of PLN 200 per full-time position, which is PLN 284 with additional remuneration components resulting from the Company's Collective Labor Agreement (bonus, seniority allowance, award from the Company's Award Fund, i.e. thirteenth salary, jubilee award, retirement and disability severance pay) and the granting and payment of a one-time award of PLN 2,000 for full-time job,” he said.

Moreover, according to ZUS, a member of the management board supervising the operations and systems exploitation department responded to questions from the public regarding the IT presentation presented on April 2. Union representatives were also provided with information on key trends that reflect the burden of tasks related to the statutory activities of the Plant.

“The employer provided information that representatives of the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy and the Ministry of Finance will participate in the meeting of the Problem Team for the budget, remuneration and social benefits operating at the Council for Social Dialogue, which was scheduled for April 10 this year,” ZUS said.

The ministry also commented on the situation on Friday, emphasizing in a statement that on Thursday, Deputy Minister Sebastian Gajewski, appointed on behalf of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy to supervise ZUS, during a meeting with the trade union and the Management Board of the Institute, informed about the ministry's support for possible changes to the ZUS financial plan, necessary to implement the salary increases and bonuses proposed by the management – provided this proposal is accepted by the trade union.

“The trade union's expectations are directed primarily towards the ZUS management board, and also concern the reported need for dialogue with the Minister of Finance and Economy. The Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy, which supervises the Social Insurance Institution, expects the ZUS management board to effectively conduct negotiations and reach a constructive agreement,” the ministry said.

He also informed that, as the ministry responsible for social dialogue, the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy supported the organization of the meeting of the Problem Team for the budget, remuneration and social benefits of the Social Dialogue Council.

ZUS previously assured that despite the ongoing negotiations, customer service at ZUS branches is ongoing and the operation of the ZUS plant is uninterrupted.

The trade union demanded an increase in wages by an average of PLN 1,200 gross per employee. Members of the management board initially proposed an increase of PLN 170 in basic salaries per full-time employee, which amounts to PLN 241 with additional remuneration components resulting from the Company Collective Labor Agreement for ZUS employees.
