Involved in various unionist actions, Simion was also caught at matches played across the Prut, when his ban in the Republic of Moldova was still not well regulated.
On October 9, 2015, he was present in Chisinau for the match Republic of Moldova – Russia, score 1-2, from the EURO 2016 preliminaries. Today, Simion can no longer enter Moldova, the current ban is in force until 2028.
Simion, who at that time was pressuring former president Nicolae Timofti for the granting of Moldovan citizenship, watched the match from one of the lawns, wearing a scarf in the colors of the national team across the Prut.
On May 13, 2015, Simion was expelled from Moldova, the decision being lifted on September 18, the same year. A few months after his presence at the “Zimbru” stadium, in January 2016, to be exact, Simion was again declared persona non grata, and a new ban was imposed on him to enter the Republic of Moldova.
