The new regulations will also cover Polish the e-commerce market, which – according to data from the National Chamber of Commerce – is already worth approximately PLN 92 billion annually and is still growing dynamically.
An important change in e-commerce. No more difficult returns
The aim of the new regulations is to eliminate the so-called dark patterns, i.e. practices that make it difficult for customers to return goods. This includes: hidden forms, complicated procedures, discouraging messages or the need to contact customer service.
After the changes, the process is to be simplified as much as possible. The customer should be able to enter the order history, select a product, confirm the return and automatically receive a confirmation – everything in a few clicks, without any additional obstacles.
High penalties for failure to adapt
Failure to comply with new regulations may have serious consequences. Entrepreneurs face penalties of up to 10%. annual turnover.

As Anna Hoffman-Flatow from JWP Legal, quoted by “Puls Biznesu”, points out, it is crucial not only to enable returns, but also to properly inform clients about their rights. Otherwise, the deadline for withdrawal from the contract may be extended up to 12 months.
In extreme cases, entrepreneurs may be accused of violating the collective interests of consumers, which involves additional financial sanctions.
