Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp (58) is far from the bench after leaving Anfield, but has made an unexpected appearance at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.
The German was present at his favorite discipline, the biathlon, where he was given a unique role: he rang the bell that signals the entry of the athletes into the last lap of the men's relay. The event took place at the Antholz-Anterselva Biathlon Arena, in the 4×7.5 km relay event, one of the most spectacular in biathlon.

Klopp, known as a big fan of winter sports, spoke openly about his passion:
“I'm a fan of everything. I love alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, I love biathlon. Everything is simply captivating.
“I was even asked if I wanted to ring the bell before the last lap. My first question was: What does this mean? I'll be there, it's my first live race“, said the technician.
Away from English football, Klopp seemed relaxed in the mountainous scenery of Italy, enjoying a totally different experience compared to the adrenaline of the Premier League, notes sportal.gr.

Klopp's appearance comes as rumors of a possible return to the Premier League have resurfaced. His agent Marc Kosicke has revealed that both Manchester United and Chelsea trialled the pitch following his split from Liverpool.
Both clubs later denied they had made a formal offer, and Klopp appears determined to keep his promise not to coach another team in England.
Jurgen Klopp left Liverpool in the summer of 2024 after 10 years. But in January 2025 he accepted the position of “global head of football” at the Red Bull concern, whose flagship club is RB Leipzig.
