The border attracts Germans. Cheap fuel in Poland tempts drivers

At the CircleK Express station in Lubieszyn, just a few hundred meters from the border, a liter of 95-octane petrol cost PLN 6.19 and diesel fuel PLN 7.61. According to witnesses, there was not a single car with Polish license plates at the pumps.

A similar picture could be observed at BP stations, where prices were a maximum of PLN 6.23 for petrol and PLN 7.65 for diesel, in accordance with the limit set by the Ministry of Energy.
At Orlen stations, prices were slightly lower – a liter of gasoline cost PLN 6.21 and diesel fuel PLN 7.59.
Regional stations even cheaper
Local gas stations offered even better prices. In Dobra, also located in the Police district, EU95 petrol cost PLN 6.19 and diesel PLN 7.64.
In turn, in Mierzyn, on the DK 10 route leading to Szczecin, the “Faraon” station sold gasoline at a record low price of PLN 6.15 per liter, and diesel oil for PLN 7.53. Special ON TIR diesel oil has been prepared for truck drivers at a price of PLN 7.52 per liter.

Gas station employees admit that traffic from Germany has increased even threefold in recent days. German drivers not only refuel their cars, but also fill 10-liter canisters. Most customers come from the Vorpommern-Greifswald district in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
Germans pay over PLN 9 per liter of gasoline
The difference in fuel prices between Poland and Germany is becoming more and more noticeable. In the German Pasewalk, approximately 30 km away from the Lubieszyn/Linken border crossing, A liter of diesel costs over €2.40 and 95-octane petrol (E-10) costs around €2.15.

This means that, when converted into Polish zloty, drivers in Germany pay over PLN 9.20 for petrol and almost PLN 10.50 per liter for diesel.
