US President Donald Trump will address the nation on Wednesday evening, April 1, regarding Iran, White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt announced.

“Tomorrow evening at 9:00 PM ET, President Trump will address the nation to provide an important update on Iran,” Leavitt announced.
According to an analysis by The Wall Street Journal, Trump is willing to end the military confrontation with Iran even at the risk of keeping the Strait of Hormuz closed.
Over the past month, the White House leader has publicly nuanced his position on the importance of this vital sea route to global trade. According to the quoted sources, Trump would have told his advisers that he is ready to end the military campaign against Tehran even if access through the strait remains partially blocked.
In the assessment of US officials, such a decision would allow Iran to retain control over the area and delay a highly complex operation — the full reopening of the sea lane.
The US president also launched a series of harsh criticisms of European allies, accusing them of refusing to support the United States in the conflict with Iran.
