MegaFon opens access to the 5G network for its customers: already now, the operator’s subscribers can activate the “5G mode” and experience the benefits of the fifth generation network. You can activate the service in your personal account or on the website; it will be available on modern smartphone models.
The first zones where the new generation Internet is available were popular locations in millionaire cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk. 5G technology can be tested in the Hermitage Garden and nearby areas within the Garden Ring in Moscow, in St. Petersburg along the entire length of Nevsky Prospekt.
In Novosibirsk, this is the entire city center, including the main tourist locations, such as Lenin Square, Pervomaisky Square, Central Park, Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, as well as Akademgorodok. Once in these areas, “5G mode” users will be able to use the 5G network if their device supports this feature.
Outside of these zones, the company is ready to provide subscribers with the key technological advantages of the fifth generation network using the new service. The solution increases Internet speed for each user by up to 60% and also provides a more stable connection. To receive such a service, the subscriber does not have to look for a suitable smartphone and a special network coverage area.
The function is designed for the most active consumers of online content, for whom the fastest possible data transfer is important. The company is confident that it will be able to provide this level of signal. Therefore, if services are unavailable, users of the “5G mode” will receive compensation for the cost of mobile Internet as part of the promotion.
“Already now, MegaFon clients can be the first to test the latest generation Internet. We are sure that this will be a completely new experience for them: now they can experience even higher speeds for loading videos, files, maps, video broadcasts and games.
