
Olga Pat, a user of the Ukrainian culinary portal Cookpad, shared a recipe for dough for baked pies.
“The pies are like fluff,” the user emphasized.
Ingredients:
- 500 g flour;
- 50 g fresh yeast or 1 tbsp. l. dry;
- two eggs + yolk for greasing;
- 100 g sugar;
- 100 g lard;
- 1/4 tsp. salt;
- a bag of vanilla sugar;
- a glass of milk or kefir;
- for the filling – thick jam, fresh berries with sugar, poppy seeds or cottage cheese.
Preparation
- Dissolve yeast with a spoonful of sugar in warm milk and leave until bubbles appear.
- Pour the dough into flour, add melted lard, eggs mashed with sugar, salt, vanilla sugar.
- Knead the dough. Cover and leave in a warm place to rise.
- Knead, form into pies, place on a baking sheet and leave to rise for five minutes. Grease with yolk.
- Bake for approximately 45–60 minutes at 180°C.
