Iran claims it has not held any negotiations with the US in the 31 days since the war began

In a post published on the night of Monday to Tuesday, X, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tehran, Esmaeil Baghaei, claims that he has not held any negotiations with the US since the beginning of the war in the Middle East.

“We have not had any negotiations with America in these 31 days. What happened was that a request for negotiations was sent, accompanied by a series of proposals from America, which reached us through certain intermediaries, including Pakistan.”accuses the Iranian official.

He continued the message, stating that Tehran's position remains “very clear”.

“Our position is very clear. Currently, as America's military aggression and invasion continues at full intensity, all our efforts and capabilities are devoted to defending the essence of Iran. We have felt the past experiences with our flesh, skin and bones, and we do not forget the treason that was brought to diplomacy on two counts in less than a year”, stated Esmaeil Baghaei in his official message.

Earlier, White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt continued to insist that talks were taking place between Tehran and Washington, according to The Guardian.
