In Krasnoyarsk, traffic police inspectors detained 36 drunk drivers over the weekend

Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate named the number of drunk drivers caught over the past weekend in Krasnoyarsk.

Over two days off, traffic police inspectors detained 36 drunk drivers in the regional center. Among the detained violators were 6 motorists who had previously been brought to administrative responsibility for drunk driving.

“They face criminal prosecution under Art. 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Also, 2 drivers who did not have a driver’s license were detained and excluded from the road, who allowed themselves to drive while drunk. The culprits of two accidents were drunk drivers,” the traffic police clarified.

State traffic inspectors compiled administrative materials against the offenders for drunk driving. They face a fine of 45 thousand rubles, as well as deprivation of the right to drive for up to two years. Drivers who repeatedly drive while intoxicated will face criminal liability.
