To restore the whiteness and shine of the toilet, it is not necessary to use aggressive products. Two available components are enough – citric acid and aspirin. This method is effective against limescale, urinary stone and rust, while being safe for health and environmentally friendly.
How does this work?
- Citric acid dissolves mineral deposits (the basis of yellowness and roughness).
- Aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) Gently whitens and cleans external surfaces.
Instructions for use
What you need:
- Citric acid – 3-4 tbsp. l.
- Aspirin – 2 tablets
- Warm water – 0.5 l
- Brush, spray bottle, microfiber
1. Internal cleaning
Drain the water to expose the sides. Sprinkle citric acid under the headband and on dirty areas. Leave for 1 hour (for heavy deposits, overnight).
2. External cleaning
Dissolve crushed aspirin tablets in warm water, pour into a spray bottle and apply to the tank, lid, seat. Wait 30–60 minutes.
3. Final processing
Wipe the outer parts with a damp cloth, then a dry cloth. Go through the inside with a brush and drain the water several times.
Important Cautions
- Do not use on chrome parts – citric acid may damage them.
- Avoid use on deep cracks in earthenware.
- Before first use, test the aspirin solution on an inconspicuous area of the plastic.
- Wear gloves.
How to keep clean longer?
- Rinse the toilet after each use.
- Once every 1-2 weeks, wipe problem areas with a sponge with citric acid.
- Make sure that the drain tank is in good working order – leaking water accelerates the formation of plaque.
Note: This method is great for regular maintenance and fresh stains. For old, dense urinary stones, a professional remedy may be required.
