The head of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk, emphasized in Monday's “Rzeczpospolita” that “people experience working under junk contracts regardless of their political views.” – In President Nawrocki's electorate there are also people pushed into self-employment – she added.

The minister told the daily that when it comes to the law on the reform of the National Labor Inspectorate, “the decision as to whether to sign this act or not is the president's decision.” “And his responsibility,” she added.

When asked whether “despite the tension between the Left, Marshal Czarzasty and the president – she is ready to talk to the president officially”, she confirmed. – Just like I was able to talk to all participants in this debate – she added.

Dziemianowicz-Bąk said that “the reform is, of course, prepared in the ministry run by the Left, adopted as a government project by the ruling coalition, supported by the parliamentary majority.”

However, she pointed out that people experience work under junk contracts regardless of their political views, and labor law and this reform are for everyone.

– In President Nawrocki's electorate there are also people who are pushed into self-employment, there are women who do not decide to have children because they do not have a stable job, there are men who work on construction sites without any contract – and the problem arises when they suffer an accident at work – then either a contract kept by the boss in a drawer magically appears, or such a person is simply thrown out – said the head of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy.

When asked what she would do if the president vetoed the bill, she replied that “she will not stop fighting for employee safety and a fair labor market, she will not stop fighting garbage collectors.”

– But if there is a presidential veto, the National Labor Inspectorate will not be able to counteract junk contracts as effectively as thanks to this act. Employees will not gain additional protection and additional support under the Act. There will be no additional positions in the National Labor Inspectorate, she added. (PAP)
