It snowed heavily in the upland area of several counties, for which snow alerts were issued. In the Novaci – Rânca area, a layer of 35 centimeters of snow has already been deposited, and road workers from the center of the country have announced that they are intervening in Brasov, Sibiu and Harghita counties.
The snowfall was announced by meteorologists, who on Saturday issued nowcasting orange code snow warnings, valid until 12:00, for mountain areas, at over 1,800 m, in the counties of Brasov, Argeş, Prahova and Dâmboviţa. Quantitatively significant precipitation is expected until Monday morning, in most parts of the country.
In Brașov, the Regional Directorate of Roads and Bridges Brașov announced that it is intervening.
“It is snowing in the mountainous area in the center of the country! Snow removal equipment is operating on several national roads located at high altitudes in the counties of Brasov, Sibiu and Harghita,” the DRDP Brasov representatives said. They tell drivers to drive with caution.
In Gorj county, the Regional Directorate of Roads and Bridges (DRDP) Craiova announced that a layer of snow of over 35 centimeters has fallen.
“In the mountainous area of Gorj county, it snowed in significant quantities and the wind blew the freshly deposited snow. Action was taken all night to keep the roadway open to road traffic,” DRDP Craiova reported.
The road workers also acted with blade and anti-slip material on DN 7A, Vidra area.
“Do not travel on snow-covered road sections with vehicles not properly equipped,” DRDP Craiova also sent.
It also snowed heavily in Caraș-Severin, Muntele Mic.
A winter landscape was also captured last night in the resort of Straja, Hunedoara county.
