I learned to fry fish without smell or shooting splashes – now I cook dinner without a mess in the kitchen

The love for crispy fried fish is often overshadowed by two problems: the acrid smell that ingrains itself into everything around it, and the oily splashes that scatter throughout the kitchen.

Bloggers have shared simple kitchen tricks that solve these problems without extra effort.

How to neutralize odor

The secret lies in ordinary potatoes. When frying fish, just put 2-3 mugs of unpeeled potatoes 5-10 mm thick into the frying pan. Potatoes act as a natural absorbent, effectively absorbing unpleasant fishy odors.

Mugs need to be changed as they cook. As soon as they brown well and cease to perform their role, they should be replaced with fresh ones.

How to avoid splashes

Just add a pinch of salt to the heated oil in the frying pan before adding the fish. Salt “binds” the moisture contained in the fish and is the main reason for the splashing of hot oil. In this case, the fish itself should be salted quite a bit so as not to oversalt the dish.

These 2 proven techniques allow you to enjoy perfectly fried fish – juicy on the inside and with a delicious crust on the outside. And after cooking, you won’t have to waste time on long cleaning and airing of the apartment.
