Mario's grandfather, the 15-year-old minor killed in January in Ceneia commune, was placed under judicial control for 60 days by the Timisoara Court, after allegedly slapping the mother of one of the two defendants in the face, reports Agerpres.
On March 20, 2026, the police of Săcălaz Rural Section 2 were alerted by a 39-year-old woman (the mother of one of the perpetrators of the Cenei murder) that, while she was walking along Teilor Street in Cenei, she was allegedly slapped in the face by a 66-year-old man (the grandfather of the minor who died in the Cenei murder).
Following the probationary period administered on March 21, the man was detained for 24 hours for hitting or other violence, later the magistrates ordered the measure of judicial control for a period of 60 days with electronic monitoring, according to a press release from the Timiş Police on Friday evening.

In the evening of January 19, the 15-year-old defendant MDA and the 13-year-old RMD, having well developed a plan they made a month ago and waiting for the right moment, killed the 15-year-old minor by hitting him repeatedly with an ax and a knife, according to the prosecutors' indictment.
At the same time, the prosecutors show, after his murder, the defendant MDA and the named RMD, together with the defendant BRP, whom they called to the scene after the crime, acted jointly and desecrated the victim's body by setting it on fire and then burying it behind the garden.
Moreover, the defendant BRP actively helped MDA and RMD to get rid of the body, as well as to erase the traces of the crime, all these actions being carried out with the aim of hindering the investigations, as well as making it harder to prosecute the two.
As for RMD, aged 13, the case prosecutor ordered the classification of the case under the aspect of committing the crimes of qualified murder and desecration of corpses, on the grounds of the incidence of the case of non-imputability of the minority.
By a civil sentence issued by the Timiş Court, it was decided to establish the emergency placement of the RMD minor in the Social Services Complex for Emergency Interventions in the Field of Child Protection – Emergency Reception Service.
The indictment, accompanied by the case file, was sent to the Timiş Court for competent resolution.
